Potato Warehouse
In 2010 we commissioned a brand new 80,000 square foot potato packing house.  We now offer Russet, yellow, and red potatoes all grown and packed by Easterday Farms.  The warehouse and packing line use the latest in technology to handle, sort and pack potatoes efficiently and safely with an emphasis on producing a high quality end product.

A triple washing system ensures the potatoes are clean prior to entering the sizing, grading and packing areas.

We employ the latest in electronic technology to optically size, grade and sort the potatoes.  A Newtec machine rotates the potatoes while one of three cameras photographs each potato up to 40 times.  The information obtained determines the exact length, diameter and surface condition of the potato. The data captured is then evaluated by high speed computer which decides how the potato will be graded and sized.

The packing house is PTI (Produce Traceability Initiative) compliant.  We are also GHP/USDA (Good Handling Practices) certified and third party certified through NSF.

We are a commit-to-pack facility, resulting in potatoes that are packed directly into cartons with minimal handling to improve quality and shelf life.

Operating a robotic arm to stack bales is one of the many technologies we are using to position ourselves as a long term low cost producer.
