For over three generations the Easterday family has been growing onion, potatoes, and other crops in the fertile soil of the Columbia River Basin in Washington state. Quality starts in the field is the philosophy that drives Easterday Farms.
Using GPS Monitoring and the latest in planting technology we ensure a precise and efficient planting process which results in shapely and well sized product.
Abundant sunshine, irrigation, and a reliable growing climate make for consistent quality produce year in and year out.
Timely Pivot irrigation, used for its even disbursement of water and fertilizers, is used to manage growth and quality.
Quality is our main objective, but food safety, security, and traceability are integral to our program. We are GAP certified on the farm and control all aspects of handling our potatoes and onions.
Harvesting potatoes in September. This field will not be in potatoes for another 4 years on average. Because the ground is ours we can use a sustainable crop rotation to decrease production costs, increase yield, and produce high quality potatoes and onions.
Onion harvesting in September. Warm, dry days and cool nights, which prevail during Autumn in southeastern Washington provide the perfect conditions for harvesting.
